On November 29, 2019, our family and community lost a loving Mutti, Oma, and wonderful friend, when Edeltraut (Trudy) Torbohm passed away peacefully at the age of 94 years with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Heinz Torbohm in 2005. Edeltraut was born in RothflieB, OstpreuBen, Germany on September 29, 1925. Heinz and Edeltraut immigrated to Canada in l957 to pursue their Canadian Dream.

Her children left behind to remember her are Heinz Jr (Karen), Manfred (Maureen), Harry (Jane), Sherry (Ryan) Stade, 14 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Trudy had a genuine strong work ethic in the service industry where she interacted with the public at the same time balancing family life. She had her own catering business, worked in restaurants, in the bakery, and ran her own business at Jade Mountain. She also volunteered a large part of her later years at the curling club in Chase, mostly running the kitchen and organizing banquets.

Trudy loved laughing and socializing with friends, travelling, gardening, and most of all celebrating and preparing for family occasions.

The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to Parkside for making her stay so comfortable. The interactions with the staff were most often the highlight of her day. Also special thanks to the nurses and staff of R.I.H and Chase D & T Centre for the care of our mom.

Trudy will be missed by her family and everyone she touched in her travels through life.
