1924 – 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Thomson, of Kamloops, BC, on May 11th, 2017 at 93 years of age. Ken is survived by his children Craig (Jackie), of Kamloops, BC, and Judy (Glen) of Armstrong, BC. He is also survived by his grandchildren Scott (Sherry), Jon (Deborah), Lindsay (Jordan), and Kurt, as well as great-grandchildren Shyla, Randy, Ljana, Aleksander, Sophia, and great-great-grandchild, Kiera.
Ken was predeceased by his wife Irma, son Doug, and sisters Mirian, and Edith.
Ken was born in 1924 to Wilbur and Sattie Thomson on the farm in Purves, MB. He married Irma Van Dillen in 1950 and they farmed in Manitoba until 1970. They moved to BC to work, and Ken pursued his passion for hunting, the outdoors and gardening. He had a deep faith in Christ, was loving, honest and generous.
A Memorial Service for Ken will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at Kamloops Gospel Church with Guido Gremaud officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Chetwynd, BC. Special thanks to the staff at RIH 4 North, and the staff, nurses and volunteers at Kamloops Hospice.
