Nobue Tabata passed away peacefully on May 26, 2016 at 89 years of age. She was born on November 22, 1926 in Inamicho Wakayamaken, Japan.
Nobue is survived by her sons Shuji (Sylvia), Katsumi (Eiko) and Toshio (Donna), seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are Hannah Tabata, nephews and nieces.
Nobue was predeceased by her husband Saburo, parents Jyusaburo and Sugie Kawamura, brothers and sister.
Nobue and Saburo were married on November 19, 1944 in Japan and came to Canada with her three sons to join her husband in Kamloops in May 1957. She worked in various jobs and retired in 1982 after working many years at the Stockman’s.
In January 2010, Nobue and Saburo moved to Nikkei Home in Burnaby, BC and had a wonderful life there until their passing.
Nobue was generous, thoughtful, kind and gentle and was forever grateful for what everyone did for her. She was very well liked and she was most appreciative for all the attention she received.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 11, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Kamloops Buddhist Temple.
