1929 – 2017
Theodore (Ted) Frederich Strocel, 88, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2017 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. He was born September 1, 1929 in Sturgis, Saskatchewan and moved to British Columbia as a young man.
Ted was an avid reader, bridge player, golfer and enjoyed down-home music. He always loved a good philosophical discussion. Ted came from a large family and was himself blessed with five children, thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, of whom he was very proud.
Ted is survived by his devoted wife, Cecile; his children: Ted Jr (Laurie), Tim (Susan), Terry, Elizabeth, Susan (Rob) Conley and their mother, Margaret; and Marion Barnes (Doug). Ted was a loving Grandpa to Jon, Jamie, Christy, Benjamin, Sarah, Michael, Thomas, Megan, Katie, Alexander, Laura, Patrick and Erin and Great-Grandpa to Hannah, Jacob, Gavin, Daniel, Kelly, Ashlyn, Mila, Shea, Sydney and Isla. Ted will be fondly remembered by many extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at the Catholic Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 1185 Shuswap Ave, Chase, BC on Saturday, October 14th 2017 at 10 AM. Reception to follow. “Life and love go on, let the music play” Johnny Cash
