March 4, 1933 – June 29, 2016
Ruby Mae Steinthorson (nee Plaskett) passed away unexpectedly at her apartment at LeJeune Manor on June 29, 2016, at age 83. Ruby was born March 4, 1933 in Brandon, Manitoba, She lived in Sherridon Lake, where she meet her husband Johannas, (Joe) and were married in October 10th, 1950. They lived in Lynn Lake Manitoba, until they moved to Kamloops in 1965. For many years she worked in the Hardware, Automotive and Paint department at Woodward’s downtown and Aberdeen locations in Kamloops
She will be sadly missed by her immediate family, sons Terry (Dorothy) and Ken, both in Kamloops, granddaughters Heidi Friesen (Adam) from Calgary, Janna Fisk (Chad) from Kelowna and granddaughter, Harley Steinthorson from Kamloops, proud Great Amma to 2 great- grandsons Marcus and Nolan Friesen, many nieces and nephews, as well as relatives and many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Joe and her brother Allan, her mother Annie Plaskett (Jones) and her father Jack Plaskett.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, August 5th, 2016 at the Mt Paul United Church, 140 Laburnum St, North Kamloops, with Reverend LeAnn Blackert officiating.
The family would like to acknowledge her friends and parishioners at Mt. Paul United Church, which was her major focus for many years.
Very special thanks to Dr. Howie, for care given over the years.
