May 13, 1971 – October 10, 2017
Our Melody slipped away with her family at her side, due to complications of diabetes. Born in the Northwest Territories, she was always full of life. She spent her entire working career in the hospitality industry, starting at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Gastown, but her happiest years were those when she worked in Vancouver and Whistler, BC. She loved to travel, and crossed Canada, explored the western United States, travelled to Australia, Thailand and Mexico. The best was the trip to Lambeau Field with her sister Bev. She had many stories to tell, some of which scared us to death, and some that I am sure we never heard. She was not afraid of anything, and would not hesitate to talk to strangers. She was always willing to help others, no matter what.
She leaves behind her father George, mother Mary-Anne, brother Rob (Shannon, Nick and Quinn) and sister Bev (Paul). We will miss her forever, especially on football Sundays.
There will be a private gathering of family and friends at Cottonwood Community Centre, Sunday, October 22, 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Condolences may be sent to the family at DrakeCremation.com
