Smith, Lewis George

Lewis G. Smith, of Kamloops, passed away on April 11, 2016, at 76 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife Betsy Smith, his brother Brian (Mary) and sister Joyce (Lorne) and nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lew was predeceased by his parents, Georgina and Stan Smith.
Lew was born in Quebec and moved west with his family. He served in the Royal Navy for 15 years, in Victoria and Churchill, and worked for the Ministry of Highways before retiring. Lew and Betsy spent many years camping around BC and met many friends along the way.
In memory of Lew, a gathering will take place at 10:00am on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Chartwell Retirement Home. A special thanks to friends and family, Chartwell staff and residents, the renal department at Royal Inland Hospital and Lew’s doctors. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation at 200-4940 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC, V5G 4K6.
