Joan Annabelle Smith (Chase-Jones)
January 25, 1960 – July 4, 2019
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Joan Annabelle Smith. Joan passed away peacefully at home on the early morning of July 4, 2019 at age 59.
Joan was born in Oliver BC and moved to Clearwater BC, with her family in 1964. She worked in retail management for 20 years in Houston BC, Smithers BC, Terrace BC and Kamloops BC. Joan enjoyed camping, was an amazing cook, she had a green thumb when it came to gardening. She liked sewing in her younger years.
Joan moved back to Clearwater, BC in 2003 because she struck up a romance and wanted to be close to family. This romance resulted in a wedding on August 8, 2008.
Joan is survived by her husband Evan Smith, step daughter Nicole Smith, daughter Heather Romeril (Jones) son in law Shamus Romeril, grandchildren, Solamyn Barstow, Sage Barstow, Jordyn Romeril, Jaxon Romeril, sisters Debbie Marshall (Chase), Barb Chase, brother Doug Chase , Donna Chase, father Len Chase and Step Father Don Arksey. Joan is predeceased by her Mother Clara Jane Chase (Marsel), brothers Russel Chase, Wayne Chase, Webster Chase and stepmom Trudy Arksey.
Joan has many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, too many to name!
Joan loved her family more than anything. Coming from a big family she enjoyed the connectedness and love this brought to her life. She will watch over everyone in her death and is reunited with her mother and brothers she missed and loved so dearly.
Joan’s celebration of life will take place August 17, 2019 at 5403 Agate Bay Road, Barriere, BC.
