Brian Charles Smith November 8, 1943 – August 16, 2019
“How I wish, how I wish you were here”
After suffering a fall in May, Brian succumbed to a brain injury on the afternoon of August 16, 2019.
Surrounded by people he loved and who loved him, he slipped away while the wind blew, Pink Floyd played and an eagle was flying overhead.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lea.
His sons Jeff (Marnie), Mike (Sindy), and Ryan. Grandchildren Ally, Charlotte, Ethan, Gavin, Chace and Aiya. Sisters Arlene Franks, Karen (Gordy) Omeg. Sister in law Michelle (Terrance) Langwood, many nieces and nephews.
Also, his best buddy Floyd (Shelan) Verge.
Brian was a chef for nearly 50 years and his dream was to have his own café. The opportunity arose when he and Lea moved to Clearwater in 2000 to be close to family. He opened O’Bryans Café in 2003, he was always so grateful and proud of the success it became. He was thankful for the support of local customers over the years, many of whom became dear friends.
Brian loved his family, his friends, Clearwater and his beloved Canucks!
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Clearwater Food Bank. No service by request.
