November 19, 1934 – April 23, 2016
Ed passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Penticton General Hospital of complications from diabetes. He was born in Vancouver, BC and his family moved to Roberts Creek when he was 18 months old. Ed was diagnosed with diabetes at 13. He started his trucking career in Gibsons when he was 16 as proprietor of I & S Transport. His career continued with Inland Livestock Transport and Sageland Truck & Trailer in Kamloops. Ed and Elaine (Jantz) were married for 57+ years. Ed’s passion for restoring cars started when he was a teenager and continued throughout his life. He was an active member of the Kamloops Vintage Car Club for 44 years.
Ed is survived by his wife Elaine, children Elizabeth (Rob) Smith, Ted (Susan) Shaw, grandchildren Krista (Conrad) Dersch, Ian (Caitlin) Killick, Steven (Amy) Killick, great-granddaughters Sloane and Brielle Killick, sister Doreen Harris, brother-in-law Alan White, nieces and nephews.
Ed was pre-deceased by parents Ted and Bessie Shaw, and sister Eleanor White.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Orchard House, 157 Orchard Ave, Penticton. Light lunch will be served.
