Beloved wife of Dwight, and adored mother of Michael and Lori (Casey), Mae passed away in Kamloops Hospice after a brief battle with cancer.
Mae was predeceased by her parents, Marv and Myrtle Cochran, and her brothers Danny, Ralph and Bud. Along with her husband and children, Mae leaves behind three loving grandchildren ~ Levi, Rylee and Aaron, great grandson Kason, brothers Rae and Larry and three special nephews ~ Rick, Jason and Robert. She had a large extended family, and countless friends who loved her. For all, this world is forever changed…
Mae will be remembered by so many for her knowledge and ability to do anything and everything she set her mind to, as well as her practical no-nonsense approach to life. She had a natural affinity for all living things. Known for her “green thumb”, her garden was her happy place and was the envy of many. Mae had a deep love and knowledge of animals. From an early age she was a cattle person, an avid rider and 4H participant, and stayed involved with cattle, sheep and horses throughout her life. She was known as the Heffley-Louis Creek valley “vet”, as she never hesitated to give advice, walk someone through a farm emergency, or travel late at night to help a neighbor with pulling a lamb or treating a sick animal. She always had one of her special dogs by her side who could read her mind it seemed, and would do anything to please her.
Mae will always be fondly remembered for her unlimited strength, her passion to receive and share knowledge, her sense of humor and her warmth and kindness to all who knew her. The coffee was always on and you were more than welcome to stay for supper. She was one amazing cook.
She was one amazing woman.
As per Mae’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers or cards, donations will be welcomed in Mae’s memory at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home in Kamloops. Condolences may be sent to the family via DrakeCremation.com
