On Saturday, November 19th, 2016 Mrs. Agnes Schuring passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after struggling for several years with Alzheimer’s disease.
Agnes was predeceased by William Schuring, her loving husband of 38 years, in 1993. She is also survived by son Adrian and wife Lana of Calgary, daughter Angela and husband Adrian of Carp, Ont., son Gary and wife Jill of Vancouver, and daughters Ellen of Vancouver and Wilma of Kamloops. Agnes also leaves behind two beloved grandsons Logan and Lucas, as well as relatives in Canada and Holland.
Agnes was born in 1926 in Hazerswoude, The Netherlands. She was the eldest child of a family of 15. She met her husband in the early 50’s and followed him to Canada in 1955. They were married in December of that year in Virden, Manitoba. Their growing family lived in many parts of western Canada settling in Kamloops in 1964.
Agnes was a homemaker. She took pride in her home and always provided a welcoming place for the neighbourhood children. There were often as many as 20 children playing outside in her yard. She will be sadly missed by all who were close to her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 28th, 2016 at 11am at Schoenings Funeral Home with Celebrant Glen Peter officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
