He is survived by his loving wife, Gail Soucy, children: Jeremy (Brandy) Anderson of Wynyard, Sask, Perry (Barb) Anderson of Nanaimo, B.C, Collin Hoevers of Red Deer, AB, Casey Shular of Sicamous, B.C. Russell was predeceased by his mom Ethel and his father Gordon Anderson and his brother Raymond Anderson.
Russell was born on June 26th, 1962, in Huntington, Quebec, the youngest of seven children. He was raised in Elgin, Quebec, on his family’s dairy farm that was started by his grandfather in 1924, carried on by his father in 1949 and is still in operation today, with his brother Thomas and nephew Christopher, at the home farm.
Through his growing up years he loved going fishing, swimming, and doing little boy things with his older brother Robert, as well as being watched over by his older brothers and sisters. He loved working by his dad’s side with woodworking, running all kinds of farm equipment, and helping on the dairy farm. Through school he had passions for driver training and wood building projects.
Russell moved to B.C. in his late twenties, with his married family, and settled in Golden, B.C. where two of his brothers were already living. In his early thirties, his passion for driving came true with him getting his Class 1 driver’s license. He claimed 28 years of accident-free driving in 18-wheeler trucks, with great pride for his employers.
He was a devoted husband of Gail’s for twenty years, with enormous love and compassion for her and their family of fur babies. He was also a very caring father and grandfather. His sense of humor warmed the hearts of all that knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, in Prince George and Golden for Russell. We will send out notices of the dates.
