April 13, 1941 – April 14, 2017
In loving memory we announce the passing of ‘Jay’ on Friday April 13, 2017 at 76 years of age. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother–in-law, uncle and friend. Jay is survived by wife Louise, son Paul (Rae), granddaughter Kerys, sister Mary Grace (Steve) Polak, brother Robert, nephews, nieces and their children, extended family, good friends and many acquaintances.
Jay was born in New Westminster B.C. He completed his Doctorate at U.B.C. in 1973 and moved to Kamloops in early 1974. Jay developed Agri Supply and continued there until he sold the company in August 2015. Agri Supply was always on his mind. The business was an integral aspect of his life.
Jay loved life and enjoyed a multitude of interests. As a young boy his many interests continued thorough his life. He enjoyed singing, hiking, birding, kite flying, guitar, and many sports – culminated with golf: golf was a passion, along with the many friendships shared. Jay also enjoyed choir and took it very seriously. He loved music and singing, and always sang to the best of his potential.
A special thank you to staff at Dialysis and Oncology at R.I.H. We are especially grateful for the caring of Social Worker, Karla Ramsey, who arranged Jay’s end of life care at Kamloops Hospice. The care performed by various professionals, for Jay and family, is truly appreciated.
At Jay’s request there will not be a formal service. A time of gathering will be held in the future. Condolences may be sent to the family at DrakeCremation.com
