August 13, 1959 – October 9, 2021
Mr. Rod Thomas Cleaver, born on August 13, 1959, passed away peacefully at his home in Merritt, BC on October 9, 2021, aged 62 years.
He is survived by his spouse, Kathie Horner, of 12 years and Daughter, Jacqualine Harding, of Trail, BC; Son, Devon Cleaver of Kelowna, BC; Step-Sons, Robbie Stewart (Shelley) of Merritt, BC and Tom Stewart of Queen Charlotte City, BC. Grandchildren, James & Sadie Stewart of Merritt, BC and Austin & Morgan Stewart of Quesnel, BC ; and his Sister, Michelle Cleaver of Castlegar; nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and relatives.
Rod is predeceased by his father, Wesley Thomas Cleaver and mother, Dorothy Pearl Gingell.
Rod was an avid fisherman, loved his yard, flower gardens and was very, very proud of his Carolina Reapers (hottest peppers in the world). Rod also loved to decorate the house and yard for Christmas, as well as a lover of dogs, motorcycle enthusiast and had a heart of gold. If you needed help Rod was always there to lend a hand.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 6, 2021 at the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology Theater Room at 11 am. A light lunch will follow. All Covid Protocols will be in place.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local animal rescue shelter or SPCA.
