June 1, 1939 — April 13, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the loss of our loving father, Robert (Bob) Allen Stenberg. Bob passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, at the age of 85.

Bob was born June 1, 1939 to Olaf and Mary Stenberg in Kaslo, BC. He grew up in Johnson’s Landing before heading off to vocational school in Nanaimo where he trained to become a heavy duty mechanic. He moved to Burnaby where he met and married the love of his life, Mary Ferris, in 1962. They eventually settled in Coquitlam where they lived for 55 years and raised 3 children.

Bob was a one-of-a-kind dad. He was a patient, hard working man who’s family always came first. His kindness touched everyone he met. Bob and Mary’s home was always open and welcoming to everyone. They loved to dance, travel and spend time with family. Bob cherished time spent with his grand-daughter. They enjoyed making pancakes or blackberry jelly together. He also shared his love of cruising with Sam. He was always up for a new adventure with her, from the roller coaster in Amsterdam to dog-sledding in Alaska and para-sailing in Hawaii. He also enjoyed visits with his grand-dogs. They always looked forward to their walks around the lake. In his final days, the dogs could still bring a smile to his face.

Bob was pre-deceased by his wife (Mary) and survived by his children, Karl Stenberg (Lorraine), Greg Stenberg (Bonnie), Cathy Hoogstins (Jeff) and his grand-daughter Samantha Hoogstins.

Dad, pops, grandpa – we love you and will miss you, give mom a big hug from all of us.
