Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Gayle Perszon; daughters Jeanine (Clay Traudt), Christa (Neil Howatt) and Brynn (Matt Poyzer); grandchildren Taylor, Benton, Hayley, and Megan. He is survived by his brother Edward (Joanne) Perszon, Ella (Don) Brown and Frances Perszon (Hardy Spitman) and their children, his nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Rick was born in Kamloops, B.C where he was raised for most of his young life in Rayleigh working on the family farm. He met Gayle at the young age of 18, and they started their life together in Kamloops. During his working years with BC Telecommunications (Telus), he was honored to experience life in 100 Mile House, Williams Lake, Smithers, and eventually made his way back to Kamloops where he retired as a manager in 2008. He enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends adventuring in the mountains, fishing lakes and rivers, and golfing. He was passionate about woodworking, volunteering for different organizations, and loved card games with friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 am, 2826 Bank Road in Westsyde, Kamloops. A celebration honoring Rick will proceed at the same location.
