Born June 20, 1934, in Montreal to Ada Alice Button and Alexis Karabetstky Kahr. Left this life June 6th 2016, leaving behind husband Ervin; sons Eric and James; daughter Karen and son-in-law Tony; and granddaughter Jordan, whom she loved “muchly”. Predeceased by son Daniel. As close as any family members were her foster parents, Bill and Ethel Runte of Montreal, and the H. Judson Byrnes family of Whonnock BC. She also left behind, but was not survived by, many diagnosed conditions.
Alexis was a nurse, B.Sc. in Nursing (UBC) and M.Sc. in Applied Behavioral Science (Spokane). She held positions in bedside nursing, extended care, Public Health, teaching, and administration; and was one of four co-founders of the Nursing Program at Cariboo College (now the TRU School of Nursing). Most recently, spent 4½ wonderful years teaching in China; and late in life she was a proponent of “decluttering”. She enjoyed all of God’s creations, flora or fauna or human.
“May God bless you as he has me” –Alexis
