Rita Phelan passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
She was born and raised in Ireland where she met and married her husband Tom. They moved to Canada in the 60’s to persue work and raise their family.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a great supporter of the Kamloops food bank and many other organizations as well as helping people in need.
Rita is predeceased by her husband Thomas Phelan and eight brothers and sisters. She leaves behind her son Joe (Juliette) Phelan and daughter Geri (Lee) Swanson, 8 grandchildren: Tom (Kristie), Della (Ryan), Dawne (Tony), Sandra (Dan), Amber (Len), Lacie (Michael), Shaun (Alicia), and Clayton (Ashley), as well as 11 great grandchildren.
Prayers will be held in Sacred Heart Cathedral, 255 Nicola Street, on Tuesday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m. 
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Cathedral on Wednesday, September 21st at 11:00 a.m.
