April 21, 1937 – June 1, 2018
It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Nick Pedwerbeski, on June 1, 2018.
Nick passed away doing what he loved. After a day of fly-fishing with his son, Leon, at Corbett Lake BC, Nick passed away peacefully with Leon, and his wife, Ollie, at his side, and a beautiful view of the lake before him.
Nick was born at Hafford, SK, on April 2l, l937. He was predeceased by his parents John, and Mary, and three brothers, Frank and Adam Belyk and Morris Pedwerbeski. He is survived by his two sisters, Sally Kovack of Toronto, and Karol (Alex) Stewart of Vancouver.
Nick will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his wife, the love of his life, Ollie Krokosh with whom he shared 54 years, and his two children: Stacey of Calgary, and Leon of Vancouver. He will also be missed by many relatives, including his nieces and nephews, in-laws, and close friends.
Nick was a loving husband, father, brother, relative and friend. His family, friends and neighbours were most important to him throughout his life. Before his retirement, Nick forged friendships with many wonderful co-workers during his 30 year career at Sherritt. Over the last few years, he enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with members of the St. Andrews Orthodox Seniors Club.
Special thanks to the staff at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
Nick’s wish was to be cremated, due to logistics this was done in BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honour of Nick Pedwerbeski to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute or Alberta Fish and Game Association.
