March 10, 1949 — May 8, 2025
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we share that Pat Kobel has passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on May 8, 2025 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, B.C. with her family by her side.
Pat was a woman of warmth, humour, loyalty, and fierce love for her family and friends. Born in 1949 in New Westminster, B.C., she grew up in a large, loving family as one of seven children. She remained deeply connected to her siblings throughout her life. Pat called many places home over the years eventually settling in Kamloops for the past 16 years.
Pat is lovingly remembered by her three children and their spouses: Sean and Tracy Harrison, Chris and Debra Harrison, and Jennifer Heighton. Pat’s professional life included many years as a medical office assistant, where her caring nature and warm smile made her a favourite among patients and coworkers. Her greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted and enthusiastic mother and grandmother, especially delighted by her grandchildren: Connor, Nicolas, Paige, and Eric. Pat was always ready to cheer them on, offer advice, brag about their accomplishments, and show up in every way that mattered. She lived life with vibrant energy and a long list of passions. She loved playing bridge, watching sports, traveling, dancing, puzzles, music and theater, and being as social as possible. Pat never missed a chance to take photos of her last meal, and she had an obsession with ice cubes. Her wit and warmth lit up every room she entered. Pat’s presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Uncle Jack’s Place, 12610 Oyama Road, Oyama, B.C., on Saturday, August 9 at 2:00 PM. Dress is Okanagan summer casual and all are welcome. Please email okanagansean@gmail.com if you plan on attending.
