It is with great sadness and much sorrow that we announce the passing of Norman (Norm) William Grant Jopling of Kamloops, BC, on July 18th, 2022, at 83 years of age. Norm passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Norm was predeceased by his parents William & Christine, and younger brother Lloyd.
Norm is survived by his loving wife Joy, daughter Crystal (Mark) Trudeau of BC, son Jeff (Shirley) Jopling of BC, step-daughter Julie (Garth) Regan of BC, step-daughter Bev (Albert) Armstrong of BC, and step-daughter Marion (Alan) Bragg of England. Norm is also survived by his grandchildren Kylie (Doug), Jenna (Jhan), Joey (Nicole), Daniel, Taylor (Vennesa), Courtney (Jamie), Ian (Laurie), and Nicola (Stewart), as well as great-grandchildren Eve, Lewis, James and Gabriel, and his siblings Wayne, John (Jane), Lois (Derek), and his nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many friends in Manitoba and BC.
Born was born in Manitoba and moved to BC. In the 1960’s, he became a Superintendent for the Sheet Metal Construction Industry, leading many projects throughout BC.
Norm loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, bird-dog training, camping, RVing, and being with his family. Norm was a very kind, loving man.
Norm loved hockey and played until he was 80 years old. He coached young kids for hockey and played with Poco, Merritt and Kamloops leagues. Norm, with his team the Kamloops Old Timers, won the gold medal in 2009 at the BC Seniors Games.
We would like to thank the Kamloops Hospice and the incredible nurses for their care and devotion in caring not only for Norm, but his family at the end of his journey.
No service by request, a Celebration of Norm’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kamloops Hospice would be much appreciated.
