March 21, 1955 – October 30, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of Norma and know she will be missed by many for her friendship, smiles and laughter.
Over the course of Norma’s life she had many jobs including tree planting, pine cone gatherer, highway flagger, working at the Tasty treat in Barriere, and at the Chinook Golf course. But of all the jobs she had being a mother to her sons Jared and Kyle and a grandmother to her grandsons was the one she loved the most.
Norma had a great passion for playing short stop on her slow pitch team, curling at the bonspiels, golfing and playing bingo with her sister Cheryl her bingo buddy. Friends and family were everything to Norma, she enjoyed spending time with them whether it was a visit or a phone call, because nothing made her happier then connecting to those she loved.
One of the biggest joys in Norma’s life was the time spent with family and friends during the annual Adams’s Lake camping trip, where she could be with siblings, children, family and friends enjoying each others company and making memories.
Norma passed away on October 30, 2024 at Royal Inland Hospital after her long battle with blood cancer with her sons Jared and Kyle Nelson by her side.
She is now reunited with her predeceased loving husband, best friend and soulmate of 45 years Keith Nelson, along with her mother Patricia North and father Emil Hartfield.
She is survived by her children Jared (Erin) Nelson, and Kyle (Tiffany) Nelson and her most precious joys in her life her grandsons Nate, Breckin, Rhett and Nash. It brought her great happiness to watch her grandsons playing sports and growing up before her eyes. She will also be missed dearly by her siblings Bob (Crystal), Mike (Germaine), Cheryl (Jim), all of her nieces and nephews, cousins, best friend Dale (big sister) and many wonderful friends.
Thank you to the family and friends who were there to help every step of the way and to all the nurses at the Blood Clinic and many doctors who provided her with the support and care she needed.
To honor Norma’s wishes there will not be a formal service or celebration of life. Any condolences may be sent to Drakecremation.com for family and friends to view.
