Larry passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his son’s home in Logan Lake, BC on March 7th, 2019 after his battle with Liver Cancer which was diagnosed in November 2018. Larry is survived by his loving wife Geraldine Nixdorf, son Douglas Nixdorf and his wife Maren. Grandsons, Steven, Brendan, Nolan and Dustyn. Brother Brian Nixdorf, sisters Pearl (Dave) O’Brien and Donna Allen (Dan). Nephews Justin (and his family), Kevin (and his family), Jason (and his wife) and Randy. Several aunts and uncles, sisters and brothers-in-law. Nephews and nieces, cousins and many close friends.
Larry was predeceased by his father Clarence Nixdorf, his mother Jean Nixdorf and younger brother Andy Nixdorf.
Larry was born in Beausejour, Manitoba and spent most of his life in 100 Mile House, BC before moving to Barriere, BC. Larry was a Mill Worker for much of his life at Ainsworth Mill (West Fraser), until he retired at age 60. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, quading and spending time with family and friends.
He was a proud, hardworking, loving family man who will be sadly missed. Larry will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. He was a wonderful husband, father and papa.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Larry’s honor on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at 1:00pm, at the Deka Lake Fire Hall. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation in Larry’s honor are appreciated by his family.
