Kenneth Arthur Newman, age 67 of Kamloops, BC passed away on September 15, 2016 after a three year battle with throat cancer.
Ken is survived by his wife Sandra, son Matthew (Erica), mother Merle, brothers Kelly (Denise), Larry and sister Deborah. Ken also leaves behind to cherish his memory numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and one aunt.
Kenneth was predeceased by his son Deanne, father Arthur, mother-in-law Kay Werenko, father-in-law Dmitro Werenko, brother-in-law Robert Werenko.
Ken was born in Kamloops, BC the eldest son to Arthur and Merle Newman, he graduated from Kamloops Senior Secondary School. Ken was married to Sandra on August 2, 1996 in Kamloops.
Ken retired from the Moving Industry in 2007 after a serious back injury. Ken worked for Chapmans, United Van Lines, LaPorte’s, MacCoshams, Milton’s during his 30+ years in the moving industry. He moved people from one end of Canada to the other; but especially enjoyed his trip across Canada in 2012 with his wife. Some of his favourite places were Niagara Falls, icebergs in Newfoundland and a forge in Newfoundland called Newman. Ken enjoyed driving on dirt roads hoping to see the wildlife and enjoying all the wonderful scenery.
Ken has requested no formal service. The family will host an open house to be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 from Noon to 4:00 pm at the family home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Cancer Society, Kamloops Hospice or any health charity of your choice.
