It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passion of Michael John Nash, who left us too soon on April 26, 2024.
Mike was a dearly beloved father, brother, son, uncle, and a dear friend to many. Always the life of the party, Mike loved to entertain with stories and his contagious laughter.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman who found simplicity and peace in nature. He spent an immeasurable amount of time hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him great joy in his life. His expertise and enthusiasm were matched only by his willingness to share his knowledge and love for the outdoors with those around him. Those that shared his passion, time, and grace, would have been shown where the trophy bucks roamed, and where the prized fish hid.
Mike’s greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Keera. He cherished every moment spent with her, and his love for her was evident to all who knew him. An inseparable bond, they spent countless hours in the backcountry of British Columbia, where he instilled his knowledge and taught her how to hunt and fish. He also showed how to be a good neighbour, as he dedicated himself to those around him, and would step up to the plate for any task at hand. His daily acts of kindness, without any benefit for himself, exemplified the true dedication to his friends, family, and those he surrounded himself with.
Mike is also survived by his mother Gayle, his father Doug, and Doug’s wife Cyndy, who will all miss him dearly. He also leaves behind his beloved ‘little bratty’ sister, Kristin (Jose), as well as his cherished nieces and nephew, who gave him irreplaceable memories, and brought him great joy, love and laughter. With an immeasurable amount of friends, he made it his mission to make each person feel wanted, comfortable and loved when their paths crossed. His infectious, booming laughter and warm smile seemed to reach the sun, he was someone that worked to make a stranger’s day- just a little bit better.
The memory of Mike will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy – one defined by a profound love, unwavering kindness, and a spirited passion for nature that will continue to inspire generations to come. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to honour the indelible mark he has left on our hearts.
Rest in peace dad.
