Then moving to Stewart then down the Prince Rupert. After the war years she moved with her family to the Trinity Valley area where she did homesteading with her dad. In 1949 she married Edward McRae (Ted) and her adventures continued. They moved to Wells, BC and while Ted worked in the mines she had raised her three sons. From there they moved to the Cariboo area where over the next few years she added three daughters and spent most of her time raising them. Six years later she had her fourth daughter. They did logging, farming, raising gardens and livestock to keep the family fed. They moved again when the mill in that area closed stopping in the Salmon Arm area for a couple of years. Then on to Golden where the kids all finished school and went out into the world. They retired to Ainsworth Hot Springs. After the passing of Ted and her eye sight started to fail her, Evelyn sold the house and moved into Kaslo. After a few years there, they sold the house and moved with her daughter and son-in-law to Kamloops. The last four years were spent in the wonderful care of Pine Grove Care Centre.
