October 24, 1920 – October 20, 2016
Margaret Beryl Maurine McEachern (née George) at age 95, passed away peacefully on October 20th, surrounded by family and people that loved her. She was born in Pope, Manitoba, on October 24th 1920 to Baron and Elizabeth George (née Leith).
Beryl McEachern was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and aunt who had a warm, generous and kind heart. She was the matriarch in her family. She joins her husband Fred McEachern – whom she met figure skating in the late 1940’s. They built a life together full of love and laughter, where her children and grandchildren spent their childhoods being a part of farm life, nature and learning to swim in the family pool.
After living in Saskatchewan for almost 90 years, she moved to Kamloops with her daughter Sandy, and then spent her last years in the care of her daughter Marnie and her family. While she called the prairies her home for most of her life, her second home was in Maui – where she and her siblings, and their spouses, spent many loving holidays soaking up the sun. She also enjoyed many trips there with her children and their families, and enjoyed adventures with family and friends all over the world.
Her legacy to her family and those that knew will be her generosity, kind heart, and her curious, creative and positive spirit. She was a constant source of love and stability in all our lives – someone to turn to for a warm smile and a listening ear. She will be missed greatly.
Beryl McEachern is survived by her twin brother Baron (Kay), Pat (Leonard), Marnie (Mike), Sandy, Fred (Rita), Barb (Kate), grandchildren Keith (Cecilia), Jae (Faith), Lisa (Chris), Neil (Justina), Danny (Shannon), Katie (Oliver), Rachel (Duncan), Caleb, Karen, David (Kim), Jaclyn (Sean), Beryl (Torsten) and Aria, great-grandchildren Maverick and Baron, and many nieces and nephews, and their families.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2 pm at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
