December 29, 1921 – July 20, 2016
It is with sad hearts, the family of Julie Mattioli wish to announce that she has finally found rest with her loving God at the tender age of 94 and a half years on July 20, 2016. Mom was born in Humboldt, Sask, the 5th of 10 children into a pioneer farming family that is still in operation today. She was predeceased by her husband Tino in 2004 and her first grandchild, Trevor Frolek in 2001. She will be sadly missed daily by her children, Bob (Lynn) Mattioli, Donna (Ray) Frolek and Rick (Philomena) Mattioli and her daughter Kelly. She is also survived by grandchildren, Brian (Julie) Mattioli, Bonnie (Brodie) Kempton, Trinity Frolek (Chad Affleck), Jason (Sophia) Mattioli, Stephen Mattioli, Ben Mattioli, Sarah Mattioli and great grandchildren Amber and Jacob Frolek (Trevor’s children), Matthew and Beth Mattioli (Jason’s children), Mallory and Amanda Affleck (Trinity’s children) and Logan and Barrett Kempton (Bonnie’s children). Mom is survived by her four remaining siblings, Rose Boltz (Midway, BC) and Ray, Jerome and Dorothy Hofmann (Humboldt, Sask), whom she remained in constant touch with until her passing, and her many loving nieces and nephews who took time out of their lives to write and visit her often. She will also be sadly missed by her dear friends of 70 years, Sam and Eileen Corea. Many thanks to the first responders for their professionalism and kindness, and to the doctors, nurses and staff of 5N for the exemplary compassion and care shown to our mom and family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral with Father Paul Simms celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
