Mary (Marie) Louise Weberg was born August 25, 1939, in Silverwood, Alberta, passed away Monday May 6, 2024, in Kamloops B.C. at the age of 84. She was the second youngest child of thirteen children born to Gustave and Maria Listhaeghe.
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother (Baba), great grandmother, sister, sister in-law and aunt. Marie, a devoted wife, was predeceased by her loving husband, William G Weberg (March 26, 2000) and her darling infant son Shawn Weberg (April 17, 1961). Marie was the proud mother of Sandy Campbell, Bill (Delaine) Weberg and John Weberg.
Marie was an adoring grandmother to 8 grandchildren; Kirstin (Zac) Carnelley, Jailene (Nathan) Smith, Chianne (Mike) Jones, Sean (Kate) Weberg, Billy (Kerry) Weberg, Adam Weberg, Ryan (Taylor) Weberg, Tiffani Weberg, as well as 8 great grandchildren; Alexander, Isabella, Sofia and Maximus Carnelley; Elizabeth and Abigail Jones; Charlotte and Natalie Weberg.
Marie is survived by her sisters Natalie Alfred and Bridget Phillips. Marie was predeceased by her parents Gustave and Maria Listhaeghe, brothers Christopher, Joseph, Norman, Albert, John; sisters Harriet, Juliette, Mary Ann, Patricia, Silvia: and her son in law Don Campbell.
Marie started working in her parents’ general store in Silverwood as a young girl. She was also an excellent student and athlete. It was at a skating rink she caught the eye of young man, Bill. They fell madly in love and married on October 13, 1958. As a young woman Marie started working for the BC Bank in Spirit River and after marrying Bill was transferred to the RBC in Dawson Creek. The Credit Union scooped mom by offering her higher pay and promoted her several times!
When Bill was transferred to Kamloops, Marie started working for the Bank of Montreal as head of the Loans Department. Once again. due to her exceptional work. Cooper’s Market convinced her to join them as their Manager of Accounts Payable at their head office.
Marie’s devout Catholic faith was an integral part of her entire life. She was a member of the CWL and she loved attending daily Mass. Her family and her friends, are beyond blessed and grateful for her spiritual guidance, wisdom and knowledge including the thousands of prayers and rosaries she lovingly said for all of us.
Marie accepted her recent diagnosis with amazing faith, grace, courage and humility. Her strength has left us all in awe and wonder. To say that she will be deeply missed is an understatement.
Funeral prayers will be held at OLPH Parish located at 635 Tranquille Rd., Kamloops, B.C. on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. followed by a funeral Mass on Friday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow at the Parish Center.
It is with deepest gratitude that Marie and her family want to thank Father Derrick Cameron, Father Paschal and Dr. Mavis Hollman for their daily visits and extraordinary spiritual and physical care.
We also want to thank the incredible care Aides, Nurses, and volunteer staff at Kamloops Hospice Center. The dignity, respect, loving and caring manner with which the Hospice staff treated Marie and her family, and all the other patients and their families, is beyond exceptional.
