March 27, 1948 – July 15, 2024
Marion was born in Wales, March 27, 1949, and grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and family. She married her first love, Robert Dudley, in 1967. Steven and Clare soon were born, and the family then made the move to Canada for work: first to Ignace, ON, and then to Logan Lake, B.C. where Marion became a fixture in the community. After Robert passed away, Marion fell in love again and married Bob Bell. They spent 23 fantastic years together riding the trails on their horses, watching the Blue Jays and traveling the world.
If there are two things people think of when they remember Marion, they are her great sense of humour and her willingness to serve. Marion was a long-time town council member for Logan Lake and was also a tireless volunteer with the Logan Lake Lions. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have her cook for them did not go away hungry. Usually you left with enough leftovers for another week, and a few good laughs. If there was anyone willing to do something crazy to get a laugh or just enjoy life, it was Marion. Whether it was riding around standing out of the sunroof of a limo, or good naturedly interrogating any new boyfriends or girlfriends that the kids and grandkids brought over for a first visit, she would leave you in stitches.
Marion leaves behind her husband Bob, her sister Kathleen (Gary) Jordan, her son Steven (Rachelle) Dudley, her daughter Clare (Keith) De Witt, her step-daughter Dianne Bell (Adam Clark), and her step-son Earl Bell. She also leaves behind her dearly loved grandchildren: Dylan, Devin, Brayden, Ashlyn, Quentin, and Alex.
Even after her stroke, Marion was herself to the end, sending us away with love and a cheeky smile. And as she would say, “Thanks for the wine, but now I must love you and leave you.”
We will be celebrating Marion’s life on August 17, at 1:00 p.m. at the Logan Lake Firehall.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Logan Lake Lions Club.
You may offer a message of condolence at Schoening Funeral Service for the Bell family.
