December 24, 1917 – June 15th, 2022
Marie (Surette) Noble was born in the family home on Surette’s Island, NS December 24, 1917, to Andre and Hortence Surette.
She was predeceased by many in her family, including her parents, siblings Arthur, Justine, Eddie, Eugene, Gilbert (aka Herbert), Lucy, Edmond, August (aka Angus) and Gustave; husbands J Elmer Doucette and Samuel Noble; and three children: Rosalie, Phyllis and Gilbert.
Those who knew her know she was a hard worker and had a generous spirit. She started work young, beginning work at the age of 10, bringing fisherman lunches before she went to school. She worked hard at many jobs and gave freely of her time in charity work, including running the Penticton Supateria until about 2007, hospice work, many hours at St Savior’s, as well as many others. Family and faith were Marie’s top priorities.
She loved flowers and cooking and was also very talented at crafts and quilting. She sold her beautiful products at craft shows as well as giving away many of those things to friends and loved ones. She is survived by granddaughters Cheryl Jackson, Kathleen Pickrel, Tara Hayes, and estranged grandson as well as great-grandchildren Taylor, Brooke, Dallas, Felicia, Brayden, Kaitlyn, Ian and Drew.
Marie’s 104 years on this planet were spent in the care and service of those around her, and her friends and family were so very fortunate to have her in their lives. She will be missed.
Also, a very special thanks to her nephew David Noble and his generosity that has made it possible for us to provide the service and final arrangements she requested
