December 25, 1938 – July 9, 2026 

Margaret “Carol” “Dolly” Petri, 87, left this world peacefully on July 9, 2026. 

Carol was born on December 25, 1938, in Cranbrook, B.C., the daughter of Samuel and Louise Shaw. She spent her early years with her family in Cranbrook and Lethbridge, AB. It was in Lethbridge where she met and married Mario Petri. Together they raised their three sons. 

Carol and Mario moved to Kamloops in 1965 with their young family. Carol worked in a variety of retail and service jobs over the years. She and Mario enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing cards with family and friends. Carol loved singing and performing with the Kamloops Happy Choristers. Carol also loved to socialize with her friends and was often found at the North Shore A&W having coffee with them. 

Carol is survived by two sons Michael (Donna), John (Bev), her daughter-in-law Cara, six grandchildren (Kira [Jordan], Rochelle, Nicole, Katy, Marcus, and Cloie), four great-grandchildren, her younger sister Louise (Bill) Bryne, and numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her husband Mario in November 2001 and her youngest son Mark in May 2023. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Kamloops Funeral Home on Saturday, August 1, at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow. 

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
