June 17, 1932 – October 6, 2018
The family of Thomas Earl MacLeod announces that a wonderful Great-Grandfather, Grandfather, Father, and Husband has passed away. On Saturday, October 6, 2018 Earl left us to be with his beloved wife Margie forever more. Thank-you to the Royal Inland 6th Floor staff, and everyone at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice. Your kind and tender care during Dad’s last days is greatly appreciated. Our Dad was a devout Catholic and his services were exactly as he would have wished for, thank-you to Father Paul, the OLPH congregation and everyone who joined us at the church for making his send-off to heaven so peaceful and “correct” as Earl would have said.
The mould was surely broken when Dad was created. He was a fantastic “Old Guy” and “Grampy” to his Grandchildren and his Great-Grandchildren. So many memories of the cabin, fishing and stories from Cape Breton will live in them for all their days. He met, then quickly fell in love, and married Margie in Cape Breton on May 1, 1954. She captured his heart and soul from their first dance and we know they’re dancing together again, to “Harvest Moon.”
Earl and Margie bravely moved their family from Cape Breton to Kamloops in 1969. His work friends, and employers from Hasler’s Redi-mix to Weyerhaeuser and his neighbours from Ivy Avenue, will remember a man of stature both physically and in his great sense of humour that was shared with everyone he came in contact with.
Earl will be missed and lovingly remembered.
Your jobs were done Dad, dance with peace and joy.
