February 1, 1926 – August 22, 2019
Michael “Mike” Lysak of Clearwater and recent resident of Pine Grove Care Center in Kamloops passed away quietly in his sleep at the age of 93 on Thursday August 22, 2019 at around 5:30am.
Mike is survived by son John (Dodie), grandson Craig and great-grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Markus and by grand daughter Amber. Daughter Carol, grandson Royce and great-grandchildren Katelynne, Shania, Jayden, Brooke. Predeceased by infant great-grandson Austin. Also predeceased by parents Wassyl and Magda Lysak and sisters Julie Lepine and Frances Rosenau. Remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mike was born February 1, 1926 Meyronne, Saskatchewan, and moved to Abbotsford at a young age. Later moving to the Chilcotin working in the ranching community. Mike then moved to Clearwater where he took up employment in various jobs in the lumber industry, the community that he loved so much. He enjoyed the time he spent volunteering at the Clearwater Legion tending to the flowerbeds, lawns, and light building maintenance.
Our family wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital and the staff at Clearwater Home Support as well as staff at Pine Grove Care Center.
There will be a celebration of life at 11am Sunday September 15th. 2019 for all those interested, it will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Vavenby & District Branch #259 located at 257 Glen Road Clearwater, BC. V0E 1N2 250-674-2120.
