With great sadness we said goodbye to a beautiful lady, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to many. Lovingly remembered by her husband Rennie of 56 years, children Jill (Mardy), Diana (Chad), Wyatt & Lily, Rob (Sheri), Kyle (Rebecca), baby Keaton and Noah, Brian, Haily & Emmett, sister Florence Case, brothers Al (Doris) Murray, sister-in-law Ruth & Mel Recchi, and brother-in-law Robert; numerous nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
Predeceased by her parents, brothers Jack, Angus & Kinley, and sister Ida.
Marilyn was born in Kamloops to John & Elva Murray. She grew up on Martin Prairie Road at Pritchard. In 1961, she went to Germany where Marilyn and Rennie were married. After they returned to Canada they lived in Kamloops and area. Marilyn worked with Home Care and Overlander Extended Care until retirement.
She was an active member of the Kamloops United Church singing with The Folk of Note, working in the thrift store which she always said was her therapy; sharing stories and laughter with the ladies. She was also a member of Happy Choristers.
Special thank you to Marlene Purpur for your love and support through mom’s journey. Many thanks to Dr. Hollman for the loving care, and to the wonderful nurses, staff and volunteers at Kamloops Hospice; you truly are angels.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kamloops Hospice or Kamloops United Church.
A Memorial Service for Marilyn will take place at Kamloops United Church, 421 St. Paul St., Kamloops) December 3rd, 2016, at 2:00pm; Revered Bruce Comrie officiating.
