Chuck (Charles) Longdo of Kamloops passed away on September 3, 2016 at 90 years of age.
He is survived by his loving wife Katherine Longdo of 63 years, children Linda (Bob) Logan of Kamloops, BC, Gwen Parkstrom of West Vancouver, BC, Carol-Ann (Jean-Guy) Perrodou of Surrey, BC, grandchildren Tanya (Derek) Olson, Mark (Shalene) Logan, Leanne (Steve) MacGregor, Vanessa Perrodou , Lyndsay (Jason) Ciolli, great grandchildren; Braden, Colby, Trevor, Sara, Travis, Kara, Owen, Evan, Juliet and Luca. Charles is also survived by his sisters Irene Rosdahl, Jean Donally, Darlene Coulter, brother Vernon Longdo and sister-in-law Charlene Longdo as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Adrian, Gordon and Bob.
Charles was born to Freida and Roy Longdo on July 6, 1926 in Valmarie, Sask. He was the second oldest to a family of seven other siblings. Charles left home at an early age and travelled across Canada doing odd jobs. He settled in Quesnel, BC where he met his wife Kay and had two daughters, one in 1954 and one in 1956. As a family they moved to Salmon Arm where he ventured into the Service Station Industry, It was here in Salmon Arm where they had their third daughter in 1960.
He then moved to Penticton as he purchased another Service Station. In 1970 he continued his travels to Princeton and opened another service station and then decided to work for someone else. He completed his career at Similkameen Mine as a heavy duty mechanic.
He gave a lot of his time to service clubs such as Kinsmen, Lions for 25 years and the legion where he was a member for 63 years.
Chuck was happiest with a cold beer in his hand with friends and family surrounding him.
