It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Linda Klemm at the age of 74 years due to complications from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Linda was predeceased by her parents Mary (2003) and Bruce (2006) Devitt and her brother Doug (Jan) Devitt (2015).
She is survived by her husband Ed Klemm; sisters Pat Geran of Calgary Alberta, Peg (and Doug) Reid of Creston BC; nieces and nephews and their families. Linda was always warm and supportive of Ed’s family; she was loved and will be dearly missed. Linda will also be remembered by her neighbours and the many loving friends she made throughout her life.
Linda was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. After high school spent two years at the University of Saskatchewan where she earned her teaching certificate. Then she moved to Edmonton AB where she began her career as an elementary school teacher and later worked as a school librarian with the Edmonton Public School Board. Through evening and summer courses, Linda completed her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Alberta. In 1966 she married Ed, her high school sweetheart, they spent 40 years working in Edmonton and 25 years living on their acreage near Spruce Grove. In 2000, after 34 years, Linda retired from the career she loved. In 2005, Linda and Ed moved to Sorrento, British Columbia to spend their retirement near Shuswap Lake.
Linda was an avid reader; she loved a great story with a happy ending. She enjoyed travelling and gardening. Her wonderful talent in the kitchen delighted guests at the many dinner parties she hosted over the years. She had a very soft spot in her heart for her pets; she loved her dogs Sammy, Jasper, Speedy, and Howie.
Linda was a kind, caring and generous person. Her gift was her smile and she gave it freely to those who knew her.
The sad day has come when we can no longer be together, we will keep you in our hearts, there you will stay forever.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when conditions allow. Donations can be made to World Vision Canada, a charity Linda supported for many years.
