Kenneth Edwin Perry

New

Posted May 22, 2026 | 11:25 AM

January 14, 1943 – May 10, 2026

Ken was the eldest of nine children born to Kenneth Arnold and Wanda Fern (Blake), Perry. He is survived by three sisters (Sharon, Wanda, Deborah) and two brothers (Phillip and Fred) predeceased by sisters Wendy and Kim and brother Jim.

Ken was also predeceased by his beloved wife Carol in 2019 after 56 years of marriage. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Kenny (fiancé, Lynne), and daughter, Kelly (husband, Daren), as well as his five cherished grandchildren, Mariah, Taylor, Mackenzie, Jaxon and Jadyn.

Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Ken was raised in several communities across Canada, including Prince Rupert, Port Alberni, Halifax, and Vancouver. It was in Vancouver that he met the love of his life, Carol Ann Harvey, at Belcarra Park, located on the eastern shore of Burrard Inlet, also known as Indian Arm.

In 1960, Ken enlisted in the Canadian Army at Jericho Beach. He traveled by train to Griesbach Barracks in Edmonton, Alberta, where he completed five months of intensive “boot camp” training. Upon graduation, he was posted to the 1st Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI), at Work Point Barracks in Esquimalt, British Columbia.

During his service, Ken completed specialized training in radio communications and advanced Ranger training, which led him to the Battalion Reconnaissance Teams. Three years later, Corporal Kenneth E. Perry was deployed on a three-year tour to West Germany under Nato Command as Reconnaissance Team Leader. His devoted wife, Carol Ann, joined him one month later.

In 1966, Ken, Carol, and their newborn son Kenny returned to Canada, where he was honorably discharged at Camp Chilliwack, British Columbia.

Shortly thereafter, he began a long and dedicated career with Wajax Industries Limited, a heavy industrial equipment company in Vancouver, British Columbia. In 1969, Ken and Carol completed their family unit by welcoming their second child, Kelly. Due to his work, Ken relocated several times before settling in Kamloops, B.C. in 1977, which Ken, Carol and kids would call home.

After 41 years of service, Ken retired from Wajax. However, retirement did not suit him for long, and he returned to work at Budget Car and Truck Rental as an in town and out of town driver. He finally retired fully in December 2018.

Ken will forever be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication to family, and quiet strength. He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and perseverance that will not be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers please consider planting a tree at A Living Tribute (www.alivingtribute.ca) with the location of Gun Lake and Scotch Creek wildfire reforestation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Kamloops Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1550 Tranquille Rd., Kamloops, B.C.

You may offer a message of condolence at First Memorial Funeral Services Kamloops for the Perry family.
