August 25th, 2021
With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Justin Bosher on August 25, 2021. Justin was 54 years of age and is survived by his wife Joanne, and two boys Jeremy and Josh, his mother Sirkka, father John, sisters Sandra (Graham), Stephanie (Dan), brothers Jason and Janin (Sheila) and in-laws Nell (Gerry), Carol (Cory), Gordy, Don (Bibi), Marlene (Pat), Dwayne (Sue), Brenda and many nieces, nephews.
Justin is predeceased by his brother Jarrod.
As a young boy, Justin moved from Ontario to BC with his family. He grew up playing both hockey and lacrosse but his passion for lacrosse took precedence and became a huge staple in his life. As a young teenager Justin’s skill found him playing on various men’s teams, where he gained respect and lifelong friendships.
In 1989, Justin and Joanne met at Farm Town Produce where they worked together. After dating for 4 years, they married (1993) and soon after Jeremy and Josh were born. Justin turned his focus from playing lacrosse to coaching. Nothing gave him more pleasure then having his boys want to play and being able to coach them. His love for this game continued.
After moving to Kamloops in 2005, Justin became involved with Kamloops minor lacrosse, and he continued to coach. His love and passion for the game spilled over onto all those that came into contact with him, whether it be the kids he coached or their parents. His compassion for all those he coached didn’t end when the game was over. Justin became a part of every players’ lives, even off the floor or field. Nothing gave him more pleasure than to run into a player and have them stop and say, “hey coach, how are you?” He often received text messages giving him updates on what they were up to or just to say “Hi”. He was involved in so many teams and organizations and spent countless hours growing this game, all he wanted was for every player he coached to love the game like he did.
Justin also reclaimed his love of hockey when he became the bus driver for The Kamloops Blazers and then the Kelowna Rockets. Another job he did on the side just for the love of the sport. It gave him so much joy seeing these young men compete at this level, he loved wishing them good luck, fist pumping them and telling them to “kick ass out there” before every game.
Justin’s most beloved treasure was coaching and watching his two boys grow to be the men they are today. He couldn’t have been more proud of their accomplishments and lived vicariously through them as they continued in playing lacrosse at a Div 1 University level. He loved them more than life and was so very proud of them.
Justin’s sudden passing has devastated his family and left a huge whole in so many lives, he will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Life will be held at Oasis church in Kamloops on 1205 Rogers Way at 2:00pm Saturday October 2, 2021.
