September 17, 1940 – March 8, 2025
June Elizabeth Wallin of Kamloops, B.C., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by her husband and four children. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Ken, her children Suanne, Becky (Craig), Paul (Bev) and Matt (Andrea), her grandchildren Dustin (Heather), Mat, Emily, Sarah, Zoë, Jack, Anika, Sophie, Nadia, Mica, and great grandson Bowen.
June grew up in New Westminster, as did her husband and love of her life, Ken. They met at UBC, married in 1963, and moved to Kamloops in 1967 where they quickly established deep roots in the community.
Loved by all who knew her, June was a vibrant member of the Kamloops community for over 57 years. She was a primary teacher in the district for 20 years and was adored by her students and their families. She sat on the board for the Kamloops Art Gallery, never missed a game or event for her children, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, and was an active member of the Stuart Wood Elementary PAC all the years her children attended. With her bright and loving nature, June made meaningful connections wherever she went.
June loved cooking, walking, hiking, skiing, and travelling abroad. She was a huge fan of the Blue Jays and especially enjoyed yearly trips to Maui with Ken. June’s love of life was evident in all that she did, but cherished friends and family were always at the centre. Her sparkling personality, sense of humour, laughter, and beautiful smile will be remembered fondly by her dearest friends and family for years to come.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Society in loving memory of June.
You may offer a message of condolence at Schoening Funeral Service for the Wallin family.
