Judy Joyce Penner of Kamloops passed away on October 31, 2022, at 74 years of age.
She is survived by her loving husband Herman, children; Chris Blackburn of Prince George, BC, Curtis (Tania) Blackburn of Prince George, BC, Catanna (Dale) Glennen of Okotoks, AB, Russell (Jan) Penner of Scotch Creek, BC, Lavinnia (Paul) Reid of Prince George, BC, and Wade (Marianna) Penner of Gabriola Island, BC, grandchildren; Nathin, Jacob, Jordan, Jayna, Liam, Alanna, Paige, Samantha, Wilee, Lo-Ann, Reegan, Ryan, Owen, Brianna, and Braden, and 16 great grandchildren.
Judy was predeceased by her parents Cecil & Bertha Miller and her brother Chris.
Judy was born in Athabasca, Alta. on July 9, 1948. Her family moved to Port Coquitlam when she was 8. She moved to Prince George, BC at age 16 where she met and married George Blackburn. The couple shared two sons, Chris, and Curtis.
Judy started her career as a dispatcher with the local taxi service before moving to Evergreen Towing and finally the BC Ambulance Service. She married Herman Penner March 9, 1985. In 1987 the couple moved to Kamloops where she continued to work with the Ambulance Service until her retirement in 2008.
Judy’s favorite pastimes included camping, fishing, hunting, traveling and any activities that brought together her friends and family.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
