1932 — 2022
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm at the home of Wayne & Shenny Robinson in Kamloops, BC.
John (Jack) Adams passed away in the early morning hours of May 20th, 2022. It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of a giant of a man.
As a resident of Cranbrook for many years, he worked and raised his family and loved only one woman, our Mom. He leaves behind a proud family. His son Terry (Bonnie) daughters Tina (Miki) & Shenny (Wayne), 6 grand children, 11 great-grand children, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He worked with Kennelly Contracting, learning and perfecting many skills. He helped to lay the first gas lines in Cranbrook and the surrounding area. He ran a hoe and as he soon became supervisor, he would tell us; “never let a man do a job you wouldn’t do yourself”. As a result, you always found him working in deep holes with his crew.
He played a guitar, entertained many friends and family over the years, and was still picking and playing just days before he left us. He was adventurous and during his retirement he and Mom moved from Cranbrook to Chilliwack, where they enjoyed lake living in their 5th wheel. Later they moved to Williams Lake to help raise grandchildren and to be close to their family. From there, they moved to Kamloops where they kept busy with grand children, friends, family, fishing, boating and gardening.
Dad was a Golden Glove Boxer and held the trophy for his weight class in British Columbia and Alberta for many years. He was so strong he could lift a man twice his size by grabbing their belt with his teeth and lift them off the floor. It Created many humorous moments.
He joined the Maverick Riding club for his kids. Mom worked the concession and Dad helped with horses. There was always activity for the entire family.
He was avid hunter, enjoyed the game of pool and was a kind and generous man. He was predeceased by his parents George and Amy, 2 Brothers, Mel and Merle and 1 sister Eileen.
It’s been a great life. Until we meet again!
Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Kamloops Funeral Home.
