November 21, 1946 – February 1, 2026 

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John Hawkins Anderson of Kamloops, B.C., on February 1, 2026, at 79 years of age. John is survived by his loving wife Leianne, children Michele Vollweiter of Kamloops, and Jay (Sandra) Anderson of New Westminster, as well as grandchildren Alex Vollweiter and Ali Vollweiter, and his sister, Carole Donnelly. 

John was predeceased by father, John (Jack) Anderson, his mother, Edith Anderson, and brother, Charles (Bud) Anderson. 

John was born in Saskatoon, SK, on November 21, 1946, and was raised in North Battleford, SK. He was married to Leianne in January 1973, and the two of them shared 53 loving years together. 

John loved playing golf, entertaining, his friends and family; not necessarily in that order. He was very welcoming, made many good friends over the years. John enjoyed many Sunday barbeques at the Andersons where everyone was welcome, and he cooked a great meal for all. 

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on April 11, 2026, at the Kamloops Curling Club on Victoria Street from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Donations in John’s memory may be made to the Kamloops Hospice Association or Canadian Cancer Society.
