It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, some cousins, some in-laws and many, many friends who are all special to her.

With all the love, mom and dad have our family just kept growing. People from all walks of life joined and became our family. A number too large to guess. They are loved by everybody.

Jesse is predeceased by her parents Shorty and Vivian Morrison, her sisters, Peggy (George), Jean (George), Joan (Jim) & Julia, her grandson Lance, and a little angel named Wendy. Most recently, her son Stephen Campbell in February of this year.

Mom was born on December 14, 1938, to Shorty and Vivian Morrison on the family farm in Hulatt, B.C. She was the youngest of five girls.

She loved her life on the farm and spoke of special memories often. When she was 10, the family moved into Vanderhoof where she lived until she met her first husband Ralph and they began their family of six kids. Working various jobs and living throughout the Thompson Okanagan area, they ended up settling in Kamloops in 1969.

Mom worked various jobs and looked after many children in our home. Our home was always filled with people. In 1980, while working at Tranquille, mom met the true love of her life, Barry. He swept her off her feet, but he was pretty smitten with her as well. Later that year, mom moved from town with the two youngest to the farm at Monte Lake. The blending of two large families was not always easy, but they did it. The Campbell/Pochay Clan was created. Eleven kids in total. Yes, 11! They also had a couple foster kids, grandchildren and a few extras living in their home throughout the years. The farm life was not new to mom, and she wasn’t afraid of a little work. She was a hard worker balancing her job, the farm chores and the new family all while cooking and cleaning for all of us at home (a life she truly loved). She loved her family, and it was her greatest joy. Mom and Dad moved from the farm to Monte Creek on Old Ferry Road in 1990. A house which became a home. A home where everyone was welcomed and everyone gathered. One of mom’s favourite days was Boxing Day. A day that saw family gather with numbers reaching 50-60 year after year. A home filled with love and some of the best memories. It truly has been their labour of love.

Mom retired from Super Save Gas in Dallas in 2017, at the age of 79. Mom baked for the gas station for many years; the customers loved her treats and often came back just for those treats. Mom loved her crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting, scroll sawing and especially her needle point. Her passion was her yard and her garden in which she spent many hours.

We were all so blessed to have had her in our lives. Mom would want you all to share your love with others and to always be kind.

“She is gone”

You can shed tears that she is gone,

Or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back,

Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her,

Or you can be full of the love that you shared.

Special thanks to the amazing workers and volunteers at Hospice. The care and support from you all was so appreciated. You know how to help a family along with their loved one’s journey and can’t say enough about how you treated our mom and family. Much respect. Also, thanks to Kim and Geoffrey at Cypress Funeral & Cremation Services.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 @1:00 p.m. at the Pritchard Community Hall located at 1941 Duck Range Rd. Pritchard, B.C.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice House 72 Whiteshield Crescent S, Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9 in mom’s name would put a smile on her face and warm all our hearts.

You may offer a message of condolence at Cypress Funeral and Cremation Services for the Pochay family.
