1928 – 2016
I am profoundly sad to announce that my Omar passed away at R.I.H. on Oct.22/2016.He was born in Georgia Russia on Dec.15/1928.His family left Russia when he was just a child and they lived in Europe before settling Israel. He became a soldier in the Israeli army and learned his trade there as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. He lived and worked all over the world using his trade. He loved what he did and was very accomplished at it.Because of his life experiences he spoke several languages, but he always said English was the hardest.
He came to Canada on vacation in the 60’s and thought it was the best place in the world he had ever been.He became a Canadian citizen as soon as he could and was always proud to belong here.
His happiest times in life besides fixing things were the times he spent fishing and hunting with his many good friends. He loved to make wine and share it with his friends. No day was complete without a glass of Merlot in his opinion. It was even better when he could have it in Maui where we had the best vacations ever.
He is predeceased by his parents and brothers and sisters.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Teresa who he met on a blind date 34 years ago. They eloped and got married in Maui in 1994 and have been there for each other ever since. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews in various parts of the world.
There will be a Celebration of Life for this beautiful, sweet, kind man at Kamloops Funeral Home on Wednesday Nov.2nd at 1:00 with the Reverend Father Paul Simms officiating.
