August 5, 1947 – August 30, 2024
Janis Rose Scarff, 77, who was born in Williams Lake, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Born and raised in Williams Lake by her parents Douglas & Marj Mallette, Janis spent her early years in the close-knit community before marrying her beloved husband, Les Scarff and moving to Avola and then finally settling down for retirement in Clearwater. Together, they built not just a family, but a legacy, founding and running a successful logging company where Janis worked as the bookkeeper, managing the business with her signature grace and organization.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Janis’s greatest pride was her family. She raised a son and daughter, Les and Dusty, alongside her husband, and cherished her role as grandmother to Alex, Aaron, Calvin, Bria, and Ashlynn. Her love extended even further as she welcomed five great-grandchildren into the world: Karysn, Lexa, Owen, Mya, and Holly.
Known for her impeccable appearance and warm demeanor, Janis took great pride in looking her best and creating a loving environment for her family. Whether she was preparing meals for employees or tending to her cherished flower gardens, she nurtured everything—and everyone—around her. Her passion for gardening was a reflection of the care she put into her relationships and home.
Janis outlived her husband, Les, who passed before her, but her memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and grace.
There will be a gathering for a celebration of life at Blackpool’s community hall on September 21, 2024, @ 11:00 a.m.
