November 10, 1960 — April 4, 2026
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of James Chamberland, 65, of Kamloops BC, on April 4, 2026.
James was born on November 10, 1960, in Pouce Coupe, BC to John and Elenore Chamberland. He was a long-time resident of Kamloops. From a young age he began working alongside his father at Rollies Truck and Tractor, where he developed his skills as a heavy-duty mechanic, taking over ownership along with Heather in 1987. He married Heather in 1984. He welcomed sons Ian (1986, Heather) and Zac (1994, Valery). In 1991, he purchased Mansini Steel with business partners, eventually owning and operating the company with Heather until his passing. James dedicated much of his life to his work, travelling throughout western Canada delivering equipment. He was always up for a road trip. He was a generous man, who would never pass someone stranded on the side of the road without stopping to help–in the heat of summer or cold of winter. His family will cherish and remember the many tales he shared over the years.
He is survived by sons Ian and Zac, loving partner Nancy, sister Janet, long time business and life partner Heather, grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents John and Elenore. Jamie lived with his partner, Nancy, in Barnhartvale, where they enjoyed going on long scenic drives together.
The family is planning a celebration of life. To be kept informed please contact James.Chamberland.col@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada. He took great joy and pride in the lives his sons built and the men they became. James will be deeply missed and his family will remember him as a rascal who is just on his way “to go see a guy.”
