April 27, 1954 – October 14, 2024
Jacob Krahn passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born on April 27, 1954, in Blumenort, Chihuahua, Mexico—a village without electricity or motorized vehicles.
Jacob lived a life marked by integrity, selflessness, and humour, and he had a deep passion for family, friends, biking, cars, and politics with an unwavering faith in God.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne; his children Tiffany, Jennifer (Thwaites), and Brendon; his grandchildren Sam (Thwaites) and Will (Thwaites); his siblings, George, Henry, Hellen, Isaac and Peter, along with many close friends and relatives.
He was predeceased by his father, Peter Krahn; his mother, Anna Krahn (nee Rempel); and his brothers Johnny and Peter Krahn.
Jacob will be remembered for his 48 years of marriage to his beloved wife, his participation in the MS charity bike tours, his many acts of service supporting his children and others with home repairs and advice, his unconditional love and support of his grandchildren and for his expertise at degreasing bacon.
Jacob Krahn, also known as Yash, Yappy, Puppy, Opa, Dad—and Jacob! if he was in trouble—was a unique and dynamic man who will be deeply missed!
