It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Brian Nicholson of Agassiz, BC, on May 10th, 2020, at 73 years of age. Jack is survived by his loving wife Melanie, his children Ryan (Brenda) Nicholson of Pitt Meadows, BC, and Matthew (Angela) Nicholson of Abbotsford, BC, his grandchildren Paige Grace, and Lilah Mary, his sister Sharon Gallagher-Scott, and cousins Hal (Sheila) Nicholson of Alberta. Jack was predeceased by his father Robert Nicholson, his mother Grace Nicholson, and his brothers Gary Nicholson and Robert L. Nicholson.
Jack grew up all over Canada, as his Dad was part of the Air Force. He settled in Richmond, BC, and became a CGA in 1975. He worked in Forestry, fishing, and courier businesses until he retired in 2005. Jack served on the board of directors for Canadian Amateur Speed Skating Assoc. and worked with Steelhead Preservation in the Fraser Valley. He was an avid fisherman, both salt and fresh water, and a dedicated volunteer for Speedskating Canada (CASSA).
There will be no service at the request of the family.
The family wish to extend a special thank you to the staff at Royal Inland Hospital, as well as the staff at Ridgeview Lodge in Kamloops. Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
